Climate change strategySukin Organics have commissioned the Carbon Reduction Institute to undertake a complete greenhouse gas emissions audit on its operations and its products. The audit included emissions from electricity usage, point of sale material, packaging; product ingredients, freight, staff travel and embodied emissions in company assets and expenses.
The final emissions report determined that Sukin Organics’ total emissions were 767.62 tonnes of CO2 equivalent gasses (CO2e) over the 2007/08 financial year. Sukin reports its dynamic emissions to the Carbon Reduction Institute quarterly and undergoes annual re-auditing to make sure its carbon neutral claims remain valid.
Sukin Organics purchases energy efficiency carbon credits to offset all of its unavoidable carbon emissions. This allows Sukin to claim it is a truly carbon neutral company. Sukin may use the NoCO2 and Carbon Neutral Product logos to promote its carbon neutrality.
